Painter Likes First Snow

One of the Mama Spot's kittens moved into Bob's heated house right after Bob moved out. We call him Painter (due to white brash on his tail).

He is sweet little kid, or he used to be little and now has grown up a little bit, but is still as playful as he was when we saw him first.

He doesn't seem too bothered by freezing temperatures and below. As long as there is a food in the bowl, some entertainment around the patio and no other cats/ppl around he is happy.

Stalone and Ripple Rug Toy

I think all cat parents know: there is not such thing as too many of cat toys. There is always a room for one more. And cats like playing with new toys... So, when we got a ripple rug play mat for cats to entertain themselves we didn't even hoped it will be so much fun. See for yourself:

Openings in the play mat seem to be a bit too small for the mainecoon, however it doesn't bother him too much seems like.

Stalone Looks Outside

It appears that Stalone likes to watch what is going out outside. Lots of cats do, right? Well, he likes to do it from the window in our master bedroom. The one we sleep in.

When he first discovered that bedroom has windows, he developed a routine when he would come in middle of his daytime (between 4am and 5am our time), and scream for blinds to be pulled up in case they are all the way down.

Can't say I was pretty happy about this, but hey, what wouldn't you do to make your cat happy, right?.. Even if that exposes you sleeping on the bed to whole neighborhood up until you wake up in the morning and pull the blinds back down.

Apparently 3 weeks of my vacation was enough to change the situation. Yuriy doesn't sleep light, screaming doesn't work on him, so Stalone had to find a work around.

How to Play with Shiva

Shiva and First Snow

Shiva got her few minutes play with first snow some time ago.

I was lucky enough the weather was awesome, sun was shinning and Shiva was in discovery mode :), I also had my phone near by, so we have a video of all of that :)

Shiva and Paper Bags

Shiva likes paper bags: they make funny noises when she hides in them, or when she jumps on them. If she jumps on them when there is Stalone in it: this is extra fun!

Alternatively Shiva thinks that bags are perfect hiding place. WholeFoods paper bags can accommodate a 10 months old maine coon kitten (and some times two!) with tail and both ears comfortably and in full.

In most cases nobody can even guess that cat is in the bag. Unless the bag was left in the middle of the kitchen floor on purpose, as a cat trap, with a video camera hanging near by...

How to Use Bathroom Sink Properly
